First Bethany Church Staff
Senior Pastor John H. Alexander, Jr (Pastor John) is a native of South Carolina, born and raised in nearby Ninety Six. He has three children: Kristen, John Michael, and Kayleigh.
Pastor John has been on staff at First Bethany since November of 2014.
Previously, Pastor John served in many different capacities at his home church, First Baptist Church of Ninety Six, before taking on the Family & Outreach Pastor role at Abney Memorial Baptist Church of Greenwood in 2012.
Since being ordained as a minister in June of 2013, Pastor John has had the privilege of serving in different capacities both with the state convention as well as the local association, where he formerly served as Moderator of the Edgefield Baptist Association.
"Just one beggar telling other beggars where to find bread" is he would describe himself and his ministry style. He has a passion for missions and a yearning to see those "who know Him not" come to call upon Jesus.
